Goalkeeper Academy Info
We are excited to announce our Goalkeeper Academy Program for Summer 2026, led by Karl Wasslen, our Assistant Technical Director and GK Program Lead. This program is designed for goalkeepers to develop, be challenged, and stay motivated in a high-level training environment.
Registration cost:
- GK Academy (U8-U14): $260
- GK Advanced: $260
- Non-Hornets Player: $320
Schedule (subject to change):
- Spring: Friday 6:00-7:00 PM and 7:00-8:00 PM
- Summer: Saturday 8:00-9:00 AM and 9:00-10:00 AM
About Karl Wasslen:
Karl was born in Ottawa and has been coaching since he was 13. He played soccer for Carleton University, where he received these awards:
- 3x OUA East 1st Team All-Star
- U-Sports National Bronze Winner
- OUA East Champion
- 3x Academic All-Canadian
- Jack Vogan Award
His playing experience includes:
- U17 Ontario Provincial Team Goalkeeper
- Romania Poli AEK reserve team (Divizia A Romania)
- SV Sonsbeck (Verbandesliga, Germany)
His coaching experience includes:
- 10 years FC Capital United
- 9+ years and current Carleton University Men's Varsity Soccer – Head Goalkeeper Coach
